Highway Design Engineer Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Manager is an mid-level professional with 10+ years of experience. This individual will provide engineering services on all phases of an assigned project under the supervision of the Department Manager.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

· Operate under limited supervision

· Provide mentoring and technical leadership to younger staff

· Perform roadway design, including plan preparation, specifications, construction estimates and construction schedules.

· Prepare or oversee roadway (geometric, horizontal & vertical alignment) drainage design

· Experience with NJDOT design requirements and plan preparation a plus

· Experience with NJDOT Utility Engineering and ROW Engineering a plus

· Serves as primary contact for client and sub consultants

· Responsible for scope, schedule and budget adherence

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

· Experience on NJDOT projects .

· Knowledge in AutoCAD , Civil 3D and /or Microstation, InRoads, OpenRoads

· Good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

· Good oral and written communication skills

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED

· Professional Engineer (PE) License Required, New Jersey

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions. Work requires frequent and prolonged computer use. May occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
