HR Legal Operations Manager
Location: Parsippany, NJ (Hybrid Remote & office time)
Our client is one of New Jersey’s leading law firms focusing on family law. We are looking for an HR Operations Manager who ideally is a strategic thinker passionate about improving operational efficiency and fostering a positive workplace culture. The HR Operations Manager will play a key role in driving the company’s success by ensuring all processes, policies, and people are aligned with the organization's goals and values. The HR Operations Manager will be responsible for optimizing the day-to-day operations and HR functions of the firm. This role is integral to ensuring that the company's processes, policies, and procedures are continuously refined to support the growth and development of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both operations management and human resources, with a proven track record of implementing effective systems and fostering a positive, accountable company culture.
Hybrid work schedule between home and office available with occasional travel to other NJ offices as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in operations management and/or human resources, preferably in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to develop and implement SOPs, training programs, and performance management systems.
- Strong knowledge of HR systems, particularly Paylocity, and experience in benefits administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of accountability and engagement within an organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with ADA compliance, CDC guidelines, and employment law.
- Strong Written Communication Skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Onboarding & Training
- Management Development - Lead initiatives to train and develop managers in EQ, communication, and leadership skills. Promote a culture of accountability by implementing strategies and practices that reinforce responsibility at all levels.
- Employee Engagement & Reward Systems - Manage and enhance the bonus system to ensure it is fun, engaging, and effectively used by all employees. Develop and implement strategies to address employee feedback and improve the effectiveness of reward and recognition systems.
- Performance Management - Oversee the refinement and management of the employee review system, ensuring it is streamlined and effective for managers, partners, and other employees.
- Job Descriptions & Organizational Structure
- Benefits & Compliance - Manage employee benefits administration, including annual renewals in collaboration with external partners. Ensure company compliance with ADA requirements and CDC guidelines, updating policies as needed. Serve as the primary contact for handbook and HR-related questions and updates.
- HR Systems & Payroll - Oversee the deployment of Paylocity features, including onboarding, surveys, and performance reviews. Conduct thorough payroll checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Communication and Documentation - Develop and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive policy documents, training materials, and internal communications that are easily understood by diverse audiences. Ensure all written content, including SOPs, training programs, and HR policies, adheres to high standards of clarity, consistency, and tone appropriate for the organization. Act as the primary editor for all HR-related documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and engagement.
