NESFircroft are working on behalf of an industry leading Power Cabling client who require CV’s for review in preparation to fulfil the role of Health and Safety Advisor UK on their high profile cabling project .\n \n Candidate Scope\n The role will be a full time site based role as the project becomes more established. The role will be available on a Contract basis. For the correct, competent and suitable candidate, the role will be based on a 12 month renewable contract based on the project in Hawthorne Pit, Durham\n \n The Advisor position will include departmental and project specific reporting lines, to support the project.

The role will focus on giving Health and Safety advice for the onshore installation activities performed by the business and its supporting contractors. The ideal candidate will be expected to demonstrate proactiveness through regular participation in site safety tours, audits, and attendance at the site health safety meetings ensuring the Business fulfil the role of Principal Contractor under the UK CDM Regulations.\n \n Project Scope includes;\nSite Establishment\nSite demarcation fencing\nAccess roads/entrances onto construction easement\nTrial Holes (Joint bay positions)\nTopsoil strip\nConstruct Haul Roads\nConstruct Road / Ditch Crossings\nProving pits and access to HDD entry/exit excavations\nDuct proving & cleaning and any associated remedials\nJoint bay excavation\nDucts recleaned immediately prior to cable installation\nCable installation (Power & Fibre)\nCable jointing, splicing and associated progressive testing\nReinstatement and demarcation fencing removed\nDemobilisation\n Candidate requirements\nNationally recognized certificate or equivalent in Health and Safety (NEBOSH, NVQ,NCRQ)\nHold a valid CSCS or CCNSG Card\nAt least 5 years’ experience in a Health and Safety Advisor role.\nHold an auditor qualification to ISO45001 Standard\nTrained in accident incident investigation techniques inc root cause analysis\nHave active Continual Professional Development as a Health and Safety professional\nHold IOSH Membership.\nPreviously held advisory positions on Renewable Energy, HVDC or Transmission Projects.\nCompetent and proficient onshore civil and energy construction projects.\nWorked previously for a Principal Contractor under UK CDM Regulations.\nFully conversant in UK Health and Safety Legislation.\nProficient in ALARP Risk Management Principles\nComfortable writing project plans and procedures to manage health and safety.\nMust be customer facing, feel comfortable managing tier contractors and previous managing a small team.\nMust be proactive and self-motivated.\nProficient in the English and Microsoft Office.\nMust have the right to work in the UK.\n\nWith over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
