HSE and Facilities Manager
Purpose
To effectively manage the Health, Safety, Environment and Facilities (HSEF) team at Cambridge and to comply with the Management of Health and Safety at work Regulations 1999 – Section 7.
Key Responsibilities
HSEF legal compliance for the site, including fire safety. Plant & site maintenance including statutory testing. Ensure production critical breakdowns are addressed quickly. Liaising with stake holders & enforcement officers as required. Manage site cleaning and third-party security guards. Legionella management. Investigation of serious injuries and establish preventative measures. Provide competent advice for staff and management. Attend committee & site leadership meetings. Ensure Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) compliance. Producing Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) & Risk Assessments. Deliver Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) training and carry out new staff inductions. Review and update HSE manual and policies along with the business continuity plan. Produce costs for board approval and sign off. Ensuring health surveillance takes place and address any findings. Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) & waste packaging producing responsibilities reporting and compliance.

Knowledge, Education, and Skills
Knowledge:
* Good communication skills
* At least 5 years’ experience in a HSEF management role – ideally manufacturing
* Understanding / experience of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 14001
* Help maintain a positive safety culture
Education
* Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Diploma (or similar) in H&S, Grad Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) minimum - Committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Engineering apprenticeship mechanical or electrical
* NEBOSH Fire Cert
* Environmental Qualification
* Auditing qualification
Skills and competencies
* Can work under pressure and prioritise jobs
* Competent using MS office
* Must be able to understand legislation and translate into effective internal policies.
* Producing suitable and sufficient risk assessment, making risk as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP)
Other material requirements
Should be an effective communicator with a positive attitude. An analytical thought process is essential. Good time management will be required to prioritise business needs. Travel to and from other sites if required (Bournemouth).
