HSE OFFICER

We are seeking an experienced HSE Officer to join our team at a hyperscale data centre in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across all operations, maintaining the highest safety standards, and fostering a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and regulations in line with local legislation and company standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance, including incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors to enhance awareness and safety competency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all HSE-related incidents, near misses, and compliance reports.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, emergency services, and external stakeholders regarding safety compliance and inspections.
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and site safety procedures.
  • Stay updated on HSE legislation and industry best practices, ensuring continuous compliance and improvement.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within data centres, construction, or critical infrastructure projects.
  • Relevant HSE qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent European safety certification).
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch and EU HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
  • Excellent communication and training skills to engage a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to work in a high-risk, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting tools.
  • Fluency in English is required; Dutch language proficiency is a plus.
  • Experience working in hyperscale data centres or large-scale construction projects is highly desirable.
