Human Resources and Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator Permanent Opportunity Ottawa We are currently looking for a HR and/OH&S Coordinator that will be responsible for a dual role where you will be providing in person and remote site support to management and also providing a strong support in Occupational Health and Safety and Training and Development. Advantages Competitive pay 75,000k-100,000K Comprehensive Benefits and Fitness Reimbursements Opportunities for growth and development Group Retirement Savings Plan Fast paced working environment Responsibilities Assist with new employee on-boarding and safety orientation. • Assist in the off-boarding process with personnel. • Maintain current legislation and awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations and make recommendations for their implementation. •Collaborate with HR Manager to ensure policy and standard operating procedures a • Develop and implement an Emergency Response Plan for all sites. • Research, plan and organize training programs/seminars internal to AOVG training and off-site programs such as CPR/First Aid. • Provide internal training sessions to employees in standard operating procedures, Working at Heights and Book 7. • Own our internal training portal ensuring compliance, completion, and effectiveness. • Obtain and track validation of all education certification. • Ensure timely completion of accident/injury reporting to HR Manager. • Work with HR Manager on Return-to-Work programs. • Lead Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings, complete meeting minutes and draft minutes. • Update the Joint Health & Safety Committee communication boards ensuring compliance. • Prepare site specific material for safety meetings and toolbox talks • Ensure inspection areas are completed as required and report recommendations. • Contribute to memorable employee experiences by coordinating training seminars and appreciation events. • Manage compliance portals pertaining to health and safety. • Ensure timely completion of vehicle/site inspections are received from field crews. • Manage fleet maintenance through the Enterprise System ensuring up to date logs of maintenance and scheduling repairs. • Act as a backup for the Human Resources Assistant. • Perform other duties as required. Qualifications • 3+ year of relevant work experience • Experience in workplace health and safety, previous experience as a member of a Joint Health and Safety Committee • University degree or college diploma/certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent combination of education and education • Certified Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification • Knowledge of, and commitment to using best practices in Human Resources •Ability to build rapport with employees across the organizational sites •Highly adaptable to changing work priorities • Excellent time management and organizational skills Summary If you think you could be exactly who we are looking for, please reach out directly to us today!
