Human Resources Generalist

Job Description: Responsible for providing support for the day-to-day operations of the HR department including hiring and onboarding process, administering pay and benefits, and enforcing company policies and practices. Responsibilities: Acts as point of contact for employees and handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff Implements and administers employee recognition programs and training & development Conduct benefits administration and process enrollments and changes Organize semi-annual employee performance assessments and annual compensation review cycle Maintain employee files and records in electronic form Be the primary backup for payroll processing, including; semi-monthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, inputting hours worked/PTO/holiday into payroll system, importing expense reimbursements, hourly employee validations and benefit changes Ensure company maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Assist the talent & recruiting team as needed Assist with a variety of other tasks to support the Human Resources team on an ongoing or ad hoc basis Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred At least 5 years of human resources experience required. Minimum of two years working in government contracting or consulting environment Experience working with HR tools such as HRIS and ATS is a plus SHRM-CP a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Self-starter, resourceful mindset with a problem-solving attitude. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment-related laws and regulations.
