Human Resources Generalist

Savan Group is looking for a Human Resource Generalist that will run the daily HR functions including onboarding and offboarding, new hire administration, benefits management, training and development, employee engagement, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Onboarding
- Conducts customer service-oriented employee orientation to provide top-tier employee experience for new team members.
- Ensures completion of all critical processes and documentation related to onboarding.
- Oversees the onboarding program to ensure effectiveness by conducting quarterly reviews of employee and manager feedback to make recommendations for improvement.
- Pro-actively recommends opportunities for improvement to existing processes and continually seeks feedback on work products.
Benefit Administration
- Responsible for benefit administration in a level-funded organization that utilizes a broker.
- Responsible for enrolling new employees in benefits timely and accurately.
- Responsible for maintaining vendor relationships to resolve employee issues as needed.
- Provides a high-touch customer service-oriented level of support to employees when navigated benefits challenges.
- Builds in-depth understanding of Savan benefit offerings to reliably promote offerings, educate employees, and answer basic benefit questions.
- In partnership with the Director of P&C, conducts annual open enrollment, to include partnership with the broker to go-to-market.
- Navigates carrier changes as needed, configure the HRIS with support from the HRIS team, and market and communicate OE plans and offerings to Savan staff effectively.
Employee Engagement
- Conducts quarterly experience interviews with all new hires to include inputting the data and participating in trend analysis for internal reporting.
- Prepares communications to support the bi-annual engagement survey.
- Serves as a liaison to Employee Resources Groups to ensure internal company calendar coordination.
- Brings an attitude of excitement and enthusiasm to HR initiatives to drive excellent employee experience.
- Is available on a monthly and quarterly basis to participate in in-person after-hour employee events as the liaison to the Employee Resource Groups and assist with preparation, hosting, and clean-up. These events typically conclude no later than 7PM.
- Assists with event planning on occasion to include the annual holiday party, and employee resource group events, with support from a part-time facilities coordinator.
- In partnership with the P&C Director, manages the employee morale budget and processes employee morale requests such as ordering gifts for employees and processing employee rewards.
Performance Management
- Possesses understanding of the basic frameworks of an annual performance management timeline, to include goal setting, ongoing feedback, formal reviews.
- Possesses understanding of general competency framework models.
- Assists the P&C Director in configuring the HRIS to administer and launch reviews.
- Collaborate with managers and employees to administer progressive discipline as needed, to include verbal and written counseling.
- Manages the professional development program and reviews and assesses performance on a quarterly basis. Provides recommendations for improvement.
- Processes and approves employee professional development requests, consistently following processes and procedures to ensure accurate record keeping.
Offboarding
- Initiates the separation process for all separations resignations to include reviewing the employment record to assess impacts to final pay and benefits in accordance with all state and federal laws.
- Communicates out-processing information and provides assistance with tracking assets for return.
- Conducts exit interviews with departing employees and records data in forms site.
- Collaborates with the Director of P&C to assess risk and with support and guidance administers progressive discipline as needed, to include the involuntary termination process.
- Oversees asset tracking to ensure timely return of company and client property, to include responsibility for shipping of equipment and receiving.
- Reviews and assesses exit interview feedback on a quarterly basis to conduct trend analysis and provide internal reporting, in partnership with P&C Director.
Compliance
- Responsible for adhering to HR processes defined in the Savan Way, ensuring alignment with organizational requirements for ISO 9001 certification.
- Oversees and conduct all annual compliance audits, reporting, and processing, including but not limited to EEO, AAP, ACA, ERISA, Vets 4212, I-9 and E-Verify.
- Processes FMLA and ADA requests in a manner consistent with legal requirements.
- Maintains familiarity with state and federal employment laws, proactively conducting ad-hoc research as needed to ensure compliance with the ever-changing legal landscape.
- Collaborate with legal and leadership to ensure HR practices align with corporate governance standards.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to assess HR compliance and recommend improvements.
HRIS Administration
- Inputs employee hire information into the HRIS (iSolved) to ensure timely and accurate setup
- Maintains accurate and timely employee filing.
- Maintains the HRIS system to ensure accurate coding in the system.
- Conducts quarterly audits to ensure accurate system entries and record keeping.
Facilities Support
- Responsible for serving as a task lead to a part-time facilities resource.
- Office administration is a shared responsibility of the P&C function. While it is not typical, team members must be available as needed to help ensure a tidy and organized office and break area if there is a gap in team coverage.

Preferred Technical Skillsets
- Has an interest in understanding trends in data and with support and development will learn how to perform data analysis in in people data.
- Has an interest in inserting technology into HR processes and automating workflows when possible. Ex. Implementation of Microsoft Forms for data collection, workflow tracking, etc.
- Has an interest in innovation and process improvement, providing feedback and incorporating revisions while maintaining standard operating procedure documents.
- Some knowledge or interest in learning Power BI and SharePoint is preferred.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a progressive HR role in GovCon space, or 2 years of experience and an HR related degree or certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
- Experience with HRIS, ATS, LMS, and CRM systems (iSolved, JazzHR, and Unanet) or other HRIS system experience.
- Experience providing HR support that has direct interface with employees either through conducting orientation or employee engagement initiatives.
- Experience conducting compliance reporting directly or exposure in past roles in combination with an HR certification or degree.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams
