
Human Resources Generalist

Role Summary The Human Resource Generalist supports the company through various HR programs and systems to meet company goals, legislative and Employee Charter requirements. The Generalist works closely with their assigned departments to manage the day-to-day human resources activities to support business objectives. Key Responsibilities • Provide guidance, make recommendations and coach leaders and team members with respect to progressive discipline, performance management and the application of policies and procedures; • Manage the life cycle employment process for business group (hiring, transfers, layoffs and exit procedures relating to terminations, resignations and retirements); • Work with business group to support manpower planning, training matrices and auditing training compliance; • Respond to concerns and conduct thorough workplace investigations; • Works with leaders to proactively resolve disputes; • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and standardization of processes to optimize team and business performance; • Update HRIS and other related systems and create adhoc reports; • Works closely with payroll to complete all employment administration requirements as well as ensure alignment of information; • Is an advocate of the Employee Charter, Open Door process, EOS and SQTCM; • Recommend and update human resources policies and procedures; • Involved with workplace committees as required (i.e. social, fairness, charity); • Support full cycle recruitment for specified departments including on boarding; • Participate in projects as assigned; • Perform other duties as required. Key Qualifications/Requirements • College diploma/certificate in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience; • Minimum 5 years Human Resources experience in a manufacturing and/or automotive environment preferred; • Proficient user in Microsoft office products, ATS and HRIS systems; • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; • Ability to work overtime and flexible to work varied hours in order to meet internal/external customer requirements; • Ability to work in a professional and confidential manner; • Ability to work independently and with all levels within the organization; • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
