Human Resources Generalist
As the Human Resources Generalist, you are responsible, without limitation, for the following: Talent Acquisition & Recruitment: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and background/reference checks. Prepare new hire packages, distribute uniforms, conduct orientations, and ensure access to necessary systems. Handle correspondence for offers, transfers, accommodations, resignations, etc. Talent & Performance Management: Provide coaching on employee relations and performance issues. Support managers in implementing retention strategies. Conduct exit interviews and assist in developing HR policies and procedures. HR Operations: Maintain strong relationships through regular communication and store visits. Track metrics for turnover, attendance, recruitment, and health & safety. Update organizational charts and address staff inquiries promptly. Oversee health and safety inspections, ensuring all locations are properly equipped. Employee Engagement: Support programs for employee recognition, engagement, and events. Coordinate leave of absences and return-to-work processes. Serve on the Joint Health and Safety Committee, ensuring proper tools and support. Health & Safety Compliance: Assist with workplace safety and WSIB documentation. Provide advice on health and safety policies and initiatives. Ensure a safe and harassment-free working environment. Additional Responsibilities: Conduct research on organizational growth and staff shortages. Participate in health and safety training and meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field. 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a Generalist role. HRPA membership and CHRL designation (or in progress). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus. Knowledge of employment laws and health and safety regulations.
