Human Resources Manager

Headquartered in New York City, located in midtown Manhattan on New York’s famed Eastside, our Loews Hotels & Co Home Office teams provide support to all our properties throughout the United States and Canada. Our talented teams provide guidance over strategic planning, operations, revenue management, communications, marketing, finance, human resources, and information technology. The Human Resources Manager serves as a HR business partner to assigned Home Office functional areas, while contributing to the execution of Loews Hotels & Co HR and People strategies. These contributions encompass a broad range of areas including but not limited to: the talent management continuum, business administration, compliance, EEO/AA activities, performance management, talent acquisition/development, and Team Member engagement initiatives. Job Specifics Serves as a strategic thought partner and source of credible sound advice and counsel to various functional areas within the Loews Hotels & Co Home Office. Consults with Home Office functional areas and provides HR guidance when appropriate. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to functional groups (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions). Ensures Loews Hotels & Co HR processes adhere to company standards and comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws. Partners with other HR leaders and functional business leaders in the areas of: Risk Management, Finance, Safety & Security, IT, Legal and operations to define key processes, identify and mitigate risks, and make changes are required to existing work practices and procedures. Works closely with Home Office functional areas to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Plans and conducts HR audits throughout the year to adhere compliance with applicable standards. Advise HR leaders on organizational policy matters such as: EEO, affirmative action, FCRA, FLSA, joint-employment, NLRA, FMLA, and all other pertinent laws related to the HR function and recommend changes as needed. Administer internal home office HR Audit and partners with field HR on HR audit, I-9 Audit, FCRA Audit, and Affirmative Action Plans and partner with HR functional leaders to establish training and action plans to address areas in need of improvement. Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning Manages and resolves complex Team Member relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations when necessary. Partners with other HR Leaders as needed to support initiatives in HR, compliance, communications, Team Member engagement, talent acquisition, talent management, training and systems optimization. Assists in the talent acquisition process, including some candidate selection and interviewing. Participates in and often leads field-focused HR projects as needed. Partners with the Loews Hotels & Co HR Leadership team to optimize the engagement strategies for Loews Hotels & Co Home Office. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the VP, HR and/or legal department on compliance projects as needed. Acts as the culture and Team Member engagement leader for the Home Office through the coordination of community, recognition and other events. Ensures the effective Onboarding of new Home Office Leaders and Team Members Assists in the resolution of work-related conflicts between Team Members, supervisors, and department heads. Provides support to Home Office Leaders with Team Member coaching and corrective action strategies. Assists in completion of the annual labor relations market comparison analysis for all non-union hotels in partnership with field Human Resources Leaders. Partners with HRMS to compile information in company affirmative action data to increase diversity efforts, specifically related to minority outreach. Conducts Exit Interviews for assigned Home Office functional areas. Monitors trends and communicates critical feedback to division Leaders as needed. Displays business acumen and financial knowledge in stakeholder partnership efforts. Provides additional HR support for hotel openings and/or dispositions as needed. Assists with the planning and facilitation of Human Resources division meetings. Act as a project manager for Human Resources division initiatives as assigned. Completes other duties and projects as assigned by Human Resources Leadership. Regular attendance in conformance with standards. May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs. Required to attend all training sessions and meetings. Ability to perform “Physical Requirements” and “Mental Effort Requirements” as explained below. Qualifications Required: Ability to collaborate, partner and influence client stakeholder strategies as needed. Demonstrate commercially focused and client service acumen in providing HR services to stakeholder populations. Ability to deal effectively with all stakeholders with tact and diplomacy, to collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Demonstrable ability to work in a modern Human Capital Management system platforms and leverage data to achieve business results. Thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures as well as considerable knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters. Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals. Ability to prepare correspondence and meet deadlines. Ability to prepare office memorandum and correspondence as well as provide clear and meaningful instructions, guidance and counseling to Leaders and team members. Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines. Command of the English language both written and verbal. Ability to travel for project purposes as needed. Preferred: Hotel experience preferred. Workday experience preferred. Education: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a Human Resources, Business Management, Communications, correlated discipline. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience. Preferably in a corporate environment or hospitality/service-focused discipline. Licenses or Certificates: PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
