Human Resources Manager

Our engineering client in Vancouver is looking to hire a talented Human Resources Business Partner.The ideal candidate will have a strong Human Resources advisory background, excellent technical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. With solid business acumen, you’ll analyze organizational dynamics and work to enhance efficiency. This role requires the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on tactical execution while managing daily Human Resources operations in a dynamic, lean team environment.Key Responsibilities:Partner with people leaders and management to understand business objectives and translate them into actionable Human Resources strategies.Lead the implementation of Human Resources programs, services, processes, and procedures that support the organization’s ongoing transformation.Collaborate with international Human Resources teams to deliver global HR initiatives, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across regions.CompensationLead participation in compensation surveys, including data review, analysis, and report generation.Oversee compensation reviews such as promotions, bonus structures, and merit increases, ensuring alignment with market trends and equity.Prepare and distribute employee compensation communications as needed.Talent AcquisitionPartner with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies that attract top talent aligned with team needs.Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, from job postings to candidate sourcing, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding.Stay current with market trends to maintain a competitive edge in talent acquisition strategies.Employee Relations & DevelopmentServe as a trusted advisor on employee relations issues, addressing concerns effectively and professionally.Support leadership in performance management cycles, merit reviews, and employee recognition programs.Provide guidance on performance management, handling disciplinary actions, and managing terminations with sensitivity.Advise managers on team structure optimization and talent development opportunities to strengthen organizational capabilities.Oversee internal changes such as contract modifications, team transfers, and organizational restructuring. Reporting & ComplianceTrack and analyze workforce data, providing insights and reports to support data-driven Human Resources decision-making, including ESG-related reporting.Ensure Human Resources processes align with internal quality management systems and industry standards, such as ISO certifications.Lead or support special Human Resources projects as required.Implement and manage Human Resources tools and technologies that improve efficiency and service delivery.Position Requirements:5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources generalist or advisory roles, preferably in a STEM-focused organization.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Hands-on experience with compensation analysis, equity benchmarking, and salary structuring.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in Human Resources strategy and conflict resolution.Business acumen to align Human Resources strategies with broader organizational objectives.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.Collaborative team player with professional maturity and the ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.Proven ability to perform in a high-change, complex environment while maintaining a positive impact on the business.Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and HR data analysis.High level of intercultural competence and experience working with global teams.CPHR designation (or working toward) preferred.If this sounds like the role for you, please apply today!
