Human Resources Superintendent (Gas, Energy, Mining)
About the opportunity: As the HR Superintendent for their midstream gas facilities, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating HR operations across multiple sites. You will be responsible for all aspects of HR, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and compliance. This is a highly operational role that requires a strategic and structured approach to drive HR initiatives, manage shift schedules, and resolve on-site challenges, including conflict resolution and engagement with local communities and contractors. You will report directly to the VP of Operations (Midstream) and functionally to the central HR leadership, taking charge of the HR operations that keep their 24/7 facilities running smoothly. About you: You are a seasoned HR professional who thrives in dynamic, operational environments. You possess strong analytical and organizational skills, and you are comfortable working on-site in the Western Region of Ghana. With experience in data-driven HR management, you understand the complexities of shift-based work environments and have a knack for resolving conflicts, addressing social issues, and fostering a safe and inclusive workplace. Your background includes international or multicultural experience, ideally in HR roles within industrial or midstream settings, making you adept at handling the unique challenges of large-scale operations. Role responsibilities: Coordinate HR activities across midstream gas facilities, ensuring efficient HR operations Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, social issues, and engagement with local communities and contractors Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training for site-based employees Implement and manage HR policies, ensuring compliance with local laws and company standards Administer shift schedules, leave programs, and rotational shifts for on-site employees Collaborate with the Health & Safety team on matters related to workplace safety and well-being Maintain HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records Drive initiatives to improve HR processes and operational efficiency Additional information: This role will require travel between multiple sites in the Western Region, including Tarkwa, Takoradi, and Prestea. Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR, or Psychology (mandatory) Master’s degree in Business is a plus Experience: 12+ years in HR, Business Administration, or Organizational Development, with a focus on operational, site-based environments including at least 5+ years in management roles in industrial, midstream, or field-site operations. Prior experience managing HR for large, shift-based teams (500+ employees) in facilities operating 24/7 is essential.
