Company Profile:

A small, growing engineering firm located in the Tampa Bay area providing HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection engineering design and construction administration services to Owners, Architects and Contractors for commercial, industrial, educational and healthcare facilities. Most of our work involves renovations, systems replacement/upgrades and facilities assessments. We are searching for an experienced HVAC and Plumbing Designer to join our team.

Job Description:

The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the engineering team, contractors and building owners to create HVAC and Plumbing design and permit documents for permitting and construction. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be developing accurate and detailed Revit drawings and details, including written specifications to clearly communicate our design intent of HVAC and Plumbing systems to a variety of clients, contractors and customers.

Excellent people skills and effective communication skills are a must.

HVAC & Plumbing Designer Responsibilities:

Must be able to design HVAC and plumbing systems, perform detailed load calculations and equipment sizing and selection, from initial concept to final permit documents.

Communicate effectively with appropriate clients and the design team in order to accomplish tasks.

Perform site investigations and systems analysis for a variety of facilities to determine the cause of IAQ complaints and provide written reports with analysis and recommendations for corrective action.

Willing to work to meet project milestones and deliverable dates.

Design HVAC and plumbing systems, perform detailed load calculations and equipment sizing and selection.

Review and verify code compliance of system designs.

Prepare HVAC and Plumbing plans and system layouts using Revit, and specifications in WORD.

Continually search code, published design criteria and professional literature to find answers and solutions to specific design questions.

Organizes and maintains a system of records.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Must have good communication skills.

Good time-management oversight skills

Self-motivated and very detailed oriented.

Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum three (3) years' experience in the design of HVAC and Plumbing systems for commercial, K-12, governmental and healthcare facilities.

Knowledge of the Florida Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA

Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD MEP (NO EXCEPTIONS), WORD, Excel, Carrier HAP, Bluebeam.

US Citizenship required.

Interest in cross training in other disciplines (electrical, fire protection).

Must be currently located in the Tampa Bay Area and have personal transportation. This is NOT a work from home position.
