Overview:

An HVAC/R Estimator plays a critical role in evaluating, analyzing, and estimating costs associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for various construction, renovation, or maintenance projects. This professional combines technical expertise, market knowledge, and cost analysis to produce accurate estimates and proposals for clients.

Responsibilities:

Estimation and Cost Analysis: Evaluate project specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to determine the scope of HVAC/R systems required. Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs accurately.

Proposal Development: Create detailed and competitive bids and proposals for potential projects based on estimations. Collaborate with sales and project management teams to ensure alignment with client requirements and company objectives.

Technical Expertise: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of HVAC/R systems, components, technologies, and industry trends to make informed decisions during the estimation process. Stay updated with advancements in HVAC/R technology and best practices.

Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to gather quotes, negotiate pricing, and obtain necessary materials for accurate cost estimates. Develop relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks or challenges within projects and estimate their impact on timelines, costs, and resources. Provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.

Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed reports, summaries, and documentation for estimation processes, including itemized cost breakdowns, material lists, and labor requirements. Maintain accurate records of estimates and proposals.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams, including engineers, project managers, and sales staff, to ensure alignment on project requirements and deliverables. Communicate effectively with clients to address queries and provide clarifications regarding estimates.

Cost Management: Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing ongoing analysis and adjustments as necessary. Assist in developing cost-saving strategies without compromising quality standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience in Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration estimation, preferably in a commercial  environment.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration and client interaction.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.

Knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and standards related to HVAC/R systems.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,853.58 - $80,000.00 per year
