POSITION OVERVIEW

The HVAC Field Technician plays a key role in the successful execution of facility assessment projects in our various locations. The successful candidate will have a pragmatic applied approach and enjoy working in the field.

The person filling this position will have a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills. This person will also be self-directed.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Travel to project sites across the United States
  • Able to provide completed field documents and notes to assist in compiling reports within project schedules for the assigned project.
  • Perform site inspections and equipment evaluations. Write observation reports and notes for distribution.
  • Perform measurements and accurately record results.
  • Performs other activities that meet the company mission.
  • Work with clients on scheduling on-site work.
  • Coordinate activity with KFI Project Teams and Project Managers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems or mechanical engineering concepts
  • Strong working knowledge with MS Office, Outlook
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, both 2D and 3D
  • Familiarity with Engineering Software is a plus.

WORK TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Extensive travel (including overnight stays of up to two weeks at a time)
  • Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.
  • Ability to perform the physical movements necessary to obtain data in the field (use of ladders, accessing rooftops, etc.)

EDUCATION

Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field such as Engineering, Construction, or HVAC preferred.
