Job DescriptionJob Description
- This position is for an Engineering Laboratory Services and Support Technician who is under general supervision.
- Performs basic to moderately complex set-up and tear down activities of large, water-cooled chillers.
- Connect and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems on Charlotte manufactured equipment.
- Operates, inspects and maintains test setups and equipment to detect malfunctions
- Familiarity with electrical work, including 460-3-60 machinery and medium voltage industrial power supplies.
- Familiarity with HVAC operation, refrigerant handling, and EPA certification is a plus
- Experience with pumps, VFDs, boilers, is a plus
- LO/TO controls troubleshooting and Arc Flash training is helpful
- Works under moderate supervision to support engineering testing of chillers.
- Familiarity with industrial tools
- Experience with HVAC or other large commercial equipment
- Commercial HVAC Industrial or operation experience
- Experience with Instrumentation set up, troubleshooting and calibration
- Set-up of laboratory equipment with pressure, temperature, and electrical measurements is very important
- Strong PC skills
- Experience or familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operation
- Reading and interpreting complex drawings, schematics, and blueprints
