We are currently seeking a Hydraulics Project Engineer to join our team in our Raleigh, NC office. This position will be instrumental in leading the hydraulics efforts in the Raleigh office and will focus on hydrologic analysis, compliance, and hydraulic design.

Requirements:

Applicants must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer
  • Must possess Sediment Control Certification
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • NCDOT Hydraulics, Erosion Sediment Control design experience a must
  • Cross pipe analysis and design experience
  • Open and closed storm drainage design experience
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic stream analysis including scour analysis design experience for major (greater than 20’) structures crossings for Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert (RCBC) and Bridge opening determinations
  • Experience preparing and sealing Culvert Survey Reports (CSR) and Bridge Survey reports (BSR)
  • Stormwater Management design and plan experience
  • Permit Drawings experience
  • FEMA FIS Flood Study CLOMR/LOMR experience and experience coordinating submittals for reviews and final approval. NCDOT experience with the MOA process a must.

Minimum Computer/Software Experience:

  • GeoPak Drainage
  • Microstation
  • Hec-Ras
  • Excel Spread Sheets
  • Various Hydraulic Engineering Circulars (HEC’s) for scour, stream and bank stability, roadway stability and stream scour/stability countermeasure design including but not limited to HEC-18, HEC-20 and HEC-23

Desirable Experience:

  • ORD Drainage
  • Design Build hydraulic design experience
  • Experience as a Hydraulics Discipline Lead or a goal to work towards becoming a Discipline Lead
  • Tidal/2D Hydraulics Modeling and Analysis
  • Experience with hydraulics design in other states and willingness to work with multiple offices and various type of transportation projects firm wide.
  • Business Development and experience communicating and coordinating with clients
  • Ability to Develop Scopes, Manhour and Estimates, schedules and manage the same
  • Development of complete contract advertisement documents including plans, engineers estimate, bid quantities and contract standard specifications and project special provisions.
  • NCDOT Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) experience.
