About the role:

Join Niterra as an Import Planner and play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely flow of products from our global suppliers to our Niterra-WV and Wixom facilities. You'll be the linchpin of our import operations, managing order plans, forecasts, and schedules, while maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders. Your Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Forecasting:
    • Develop and maintain accurate order plans, forecasts, and delivery schedules for imported products.
    • Analyze customer orders and forecasts, comparing them to actual shipments to identify trends and potential issues.
    • Maintain long-term plant/annual order requirements, including three-year plans and monthly forecasts.
  • Inventory Management & Procurement:
    • Monitor finished goods stock levels and proactively expedite or delay shipments based on inventory and demand.
    • Generate purchase requisitions using our MRP system.
    • Prepare and maintain inventory tracking and forecasting spreadsheets.
    • Evaluate part status and report shortages promptly.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Communicate completed plans to relevant personnel at Niterra-WV, Wixom, and suppliers.
    • Interface effectively with all Niterra locations to ensure seamless processes.
    • Create and review combined releases, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance:
    • Assist in implementing changes to enhance our inventory management system.
    • Maintain purchasing files and support document/records preparation.
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including IATF, ISO, TISAX, ISMS, and safety standards.
    • Develop IATF procedures or work instructions related to job functions.
  • Other Duties:
    • Coordinate special projects as assigned by management.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Be available for overtime and/or travel as required.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; combination of post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience .
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
    • Intermediate computer skills and the ability to learn and navigate MRP systems.
  • Essential Skills:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proven ability to prioritize duties and manage time effectively.
    • Negotiation and diplomacy skills.
    • Ability to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to cope with stressful situations.
    • Accountability and confidentiality.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to see, hear, communicate verbally, and use a computer keyboard.
