We are looking for Indigenous Environmental Field Liaison staff who will be responsible for providing an Indigenous perspective to a wide variety of environmental field activities and identifying Indigenous Knowledges and values to be included in Environmental/Impact Assessments. The candidate will also be assisting with consultation and engagement activities, working alongside our wider Environmental specialists. You must also have the ability to travel, and lived experience is a strong preference. Our primary need is for candidates in Ontario, however we will consider applicants nationally.Our work includes delivering keystone projects throughout their lifecycle: from early assessment of constraints to strategic development of regulatory approvals processes, to compliance management through construction and operations. As part of the wider Environment division, you’ll be at the heart of the business with the opportunity to work alongside a variety of environmental and engineering professionals across Canada and our global regions.Location: Toronto ON.Your role within the teamLiaise and communicate with First Nations, Indigenous communities and organizations.Assist with the development and implementation of Indigenous consultation, engagement.Assist with the development of field survey training programs tailored to specific First Nations or Indigenous communities within treaty territories.Participate in Field surveys in line with previous experience and areas of interest (e.g. soil sampling, ground/surface water monitoring, wildlife surveys).Completion of detailed field notes, daily reports, forms and checklists.Gather Indigenous and Traditional Knowledge to weave into EA/IA reports.Ability to identify local protocols and provide relevant direction to field staff to ensure that field teams respect the protocols of the territories in which they are working.A passion for working outdoors and teaching others is a must.
