Position: Industrial Controls Engineer – PLC’s (All experience levels)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Role: Hybrid / Full-Time Permanent

Our Client in the Space, Defense, and Power Systems Industry is seeking Industrial Control Engineers who specialize in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based control systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Design and testing of large-scale safety-rated control systems, specifically including energy storage and medium voltage (4160V, 1000 VDC, 13.8 kV) power distribution.

· Development of PLC logic to automate large-scale power systems.

· Development of Human to human-to-machine interfaces (HMI).

· Variable-Frequency Drive (VFD) deployment.

· Incorporation of high-speed data logging.

· Develop overall control architectures, select parts, build test stands, and support overall system development and third-party integration.

· PLC software development.

· Creation, review, and issuance of prototype and production-level electrical drawings and schematics

Education and Experience Requirements:

· United States Citizenship is required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions.

· Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

· Experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs

Controls Engineering Experience Needed; 2 to 8 years

· STEM-related MS with 2 years of industrial controls experience.

· STEM-related BS with 4 years of industrial controls experience.

· STEM-related AS with 6 years of industrial controls experience.

· Ex-military with 8 years of industrial control experience

The following experience is not required, but highly desirable:

· Military experience

· High-speed communications development

· TÜV functional safety certificate

· Familiarity with MODBUS and CANbus communications

Immediate Requirements/Projects include:

· PLC and HMI software development for energy storage systems.

· Selection of safety-rated components for large-scale control system.

· Safety control systems.
