Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Salary: $35-$42/hr depending on experience

Available shifts:

  • DAY SHIFT (7a-7p) and NIGHT SHIFT (7p-7a)

Purpose:

Have a complete understanding of digital electronics, micro-computers, micro-processors, and industrial electrical circuitry and system. Efficiently analyze and correct electrical/electronic problems in process and plant equipment. Perform other maintenance duties as directed and in a safe efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Programmable Logic Controls: Analyze problems, repair and program controls.
  • AC/DC Motors: Trouble shoot and repair motors and drives.
  • Ladder Relay Logic: Read and understand schematics and be able to layout and wire.
  • Analog and digital circuitry: Analyze problems and repair both analog and digital circuitry and be able to interface the two.
  • Panel Layout: Design panels to include wiring and controls using established industry standards optimizing control and minimizing costs. Documentation of all panel layout and design is also necessary.
  • Electronic Controls: Able to analyze problems and repair, various electrical controllers, i.e. cycle timer, temperature controllers, pressure controllers.
  • Mechanical:
  • A. Use hand tools for mechanical work.
  • B. Have basic knowledge of machine repair so assistance to other maintenance personnel can be provided.
  • C. When necessary assist mechanics in repair of equipment, changeovers, rebuilding and/or replacement of parts.
  • D. Capable of light brazing, welding and soldering.

GENERAL DUTIES:

1. Thorough knowledge of three phase electricity, 110, 220, 440, AC and DC current. Must be able to troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair high voltage as well as control wiring.

2. Analyze, repair or replace solid state controls and power boards.

3. Install all types of electrical equipment, i.e. wires, motors, controls, lighting, etc.

4. Know how to use and understand results of using voltmeters, ampmeters, oscilloscopes and/or other electrical metering devices when troubleshooting.

5. Know proper wire sizes and uses.

6. Read and write schematics and wiring diagrams for controllers and panels.

7. Have good electrical/electronic analysis abilities and be able to troubleshoot and repair problems.

8. Know and understand electrical codes.

9. Have the knowledge, skill, and ability to assist and train others in electric/electronic areas.

10. Perform all duties in a safe efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.

11. Provide guidance when working with other maintenance personnel on electrical/electronic systems.

12. Responsible for reporting food packaging safety problems to plant management.

13. In the incumbents absence these responsibilities will be transferred to another Maintenance Electrician.

14. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Must be trained in and follow company policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical control and food safety plans and policies.

Must be competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities
