Industrial Maintenance Manager

Overview:
The Maintenance Manager plays a key role in ensuring the seamless operation of all wash processes, optimizing equipment efficiency, scheduling and overseeing preventive maintenance, and contributing to capital improvement projects within the service center. This position works closely with the General Manager to guide and supervise the local maintenance team, ensuring the effective maintenance and performance of plant and wash equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement a proactive preventative maintenance program at the facility.

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

  • Utilize and enforce the use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with facility systems, providing technical support to the maintenance team.

  • Maintain and oversee PDM systems, including troubleshooting, software updates, and hardware installations.

  • Provide equipment performance analysis and recommend cost-effective solutions for optimized operations.

  • Execute capital projects and initiatives, adhering to budget constraints and timelines.

  • Lead and support maintenance personnel in installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment while ensuring a clean and organized workspace.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to efficiency and deadlines.

  • Monitor and analyze machine downtime to drive improvements.

  • Train and develop maintenance team members to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Oversee parts inventory and procurement processes.

  • Maintain accurate tracking and documentation within CMMS and other monitoring tools.

Performance Metrics:

  • Cost efficiency of wash operations, including fixed and variable expenses.

  • Maintenance and repair costs relative to budget.

  • Compliance with OSHA regulations and workplace safety initiatives.

  • Execution and delivery of facility-specific projects.

  • Adherence to food safety and environmental regulations at both local and federal levels.

  • Improvement in equipment uptime and reliability.

Decision-Making Authority:

  • Provide recommendations on capital investments and their potential return.

  • Manage capital expenditure projects within approved budget allocations (ranging from $3M to $11M annually).

  • Oversee and make informed decisions on repair and maintenance budgets for individual facilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree .

  • Strong background in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Proven track record in process development and balancing cost, quality, and efficiency.

  • Experience managing multiple projects with defined budgets and timelines.

  • OSHA safety training or accreditation strongly .

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to meet high operational demands.

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to labor, employee relations, and safety.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard business applications.

  • Ability to develop and lead an effective team in a high-paced production or warehouse setting.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
