Position Title: Maintenance Foreman
Job Description: The Maintenance Foreman plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing processes. They are responsible for supervising a team of Maintenance technicians, ensuring all maintenance activities are handled in adherence with quality and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise maintenance Technicians, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and training as needed.
- Collaborate with production managers to develop project schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Implement and oversee routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure team follows safety protocols and company policies
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure all workers adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate protective equipment.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance activities, equipment status, and team performance.
- Identify production issues or bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Prepare and submit reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and team performance.
- Foster a positive work environment and motivate staff to achieve production goals while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction and implement measures to enhance productivity and profitability.
- Ensure constant communication with production supervisors and leaders to promptly address any issues that arise, without disrupting production. Additionally, uphold a positive and respectful dialogue with all staff members.
As a foreman who is also a member of the bargaining union, you are not permitted to discipline another union member. If you encounter a problem with another union member, please bring it to your supervisor's attention.
