Title: Packaging Operator 3

Hours are 6pm-6:30am on thesame rotating 2-week schedule as our MFG Techs. (Week 1 M,T,F,S / Week 2 Su, W, Th).

Run lines/ automation - willbe operating machines vs. hand filling

Forklift experience

GMP experience ()

Must be clean shaved.

Key Accountabilities: Supportsoperational functions, provides technical guidance, assists with theimplementation of improvements, and works on departmental projects in order to

ensure department andcorporate objectives are satisfied.

Candidates Profile

Education: HS Diploma orequivalent

Desirable: High school coursework in chemistry or 6 months chemistry related work experience

Work Experience

2-4 years packaging experiencepreferred but not required.

Job specific Competencies& Skills

Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to operate poweredindustrial equipment and perform hand weighing operations. Also able to setupand run drum massager, delumper, filling machine, capper, automated labeler,and other ergonomic equipment.

Knowledge of product flowthroughout the packaging process.

Ability to effectivelycommunicate in a professional manner with all levels of staff both orally andwritten.

Ability to work in a groupsetting.

Ability to demonstrateattention to detail.

Ability to work quickly andadjust to changing priorities in a fast-pace environment.

Demonstrated problem-solvingand team building skills with the ability to work with a diverse group ofpeople.

Essential Job Functions:

Provides training andoperational support to the department

Maintains high-quality workenvironment by sharing knowledge and experiences so team members are motivatedto perform at their highest level

Keeps supervisor informed ofpotential and/or existing concerns

Leads by example in performingcore packaging job elements by meeting or exceeding performance expectations,following health and safety guidelines, job accuracy, and following company andregulatory requirements.

Participates in and supportsthe development and implementation of process improvement projects and leadstest cycles to challenge current practices, improve system efficiency, enhancecustomer service, and maintain compliance

Troubleshoot problems withinthe department

Demonstrates working knowledgeof department operating systems.

Maintains orders, work areasand stock locations in a safe, clean, and organized manner.

Reports unsafe or potentiallyunsafe hazards to any member of management

Miscellaneous duties and tasksas assigned

Environmental Conditions:

General Office Environment:Noise level in office environment is generally quiet.

Packaging Environment:

Occasionally works near movingmechanical parts. Is regularly required to wear appropriate protective gear,(hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes,respirator) and other personal protection equipment PPE to protect themselvesfrom toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors orairborne particles. The work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormallyhot or cold.

Physical Requirements:

If performing office duties:Employee is required to sit, stand, hear, and use hands to operate all officeequipment. Employee must view computer monitors for long periods of time.Vision requirements are close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employeeoccasionally will be required to lift, generally no more than 55 pounds.

If performingwarehouse/distribution duties:

While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach abovethe shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for long periods of time. Theemployee must be able to talk, hear, taste and smell. The employee mustregularly lift 55 pounds and/or move 300+ pounds without additional employeeassistance. Employee may be required to move more than 300+ pounds withassistance. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision,distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the abilityto adjust focus. Regularly uses manufacturing equipment, powered industrialequipment, phones, computers, computer monitors and all office/laboratoryequipment.
