We are seeking a self-starting, collaborative, business-aware individual to join our Information Technology department as the Information Technology Manager. Our ideal candidate is a player/coach with IT domain experience in a SaaS business application environment. Company Description
We are a leading provider of wireless, mesh-networked, "Internet of Things" (IoT) sensors for industrial environments. Our cost-effective, plug-and-play products empower plants of all sizes to conduct predictive and preventative maintenance on mission-critical and secondary equipment in order to maximize uptime. (I.e. We help with things like getting your Prime packages to you faster!)
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Must reside in Cincinnati metropolitan area, or be willing to relocate
Office Locations: Queens Gate area of Cincinnati, OH & Covington, KY
Onsite Requirements: Onsite - hybrid schedule
Travel: No travel required

Job Description
The IT Manager I will play a critical role in building and maintaining:
- Architectural & integration strategies
- An application portfolio
- Security measures & policies
- IT project pipeline & execution
- IT vendor relations
The ideal IT Manager I will be a business liaison, able to map and prioritize business needs into practical application solutions that support the growing business. The ideal candidate will be proficient in identifying solutions in Waites’ existing SaaS off-the-shelf applications, and in working with third-party vendors to provide supportable integrations and extensions to the application portfolio when required. They will report to the COO, providing C-level visibility to the IT budget and performance of the project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Operations Management:
- Oversee network infrastructure, security protocols, and end-user devices
- Mentor, manage and grow the IT team
- Mature the Service Desk/Helpdesk function, fostering a responsive, customer-first culture
- Collaborate with Engineering & Manufacturing as required, supporting security and quality initiatives such as SOC II Type 1 and ISO-9001
2. Business Liaison:
- Act as a bridge between IT and other business functions
- Understand functional goals, intersections with IT, and their alignment with corporate strategy
- Act as a steward for the application portfolio, evangelizing for new use-cases that streamline business processes and ensuring effective use
- Identify and recommend commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications where needed
- Specify requirements for custom applications and collaborate with vendors to ensure timely and effective delivery of solutions
3. Strategic IT Planning:
- Define and maintain standards for enterprise architecture
- Develop and maintain the IT roadmap in line with business objectives
- Perform vendor relations and management
4. Project Management:
- Plan and execute IT projects
- Manage project budgets and resources effectively
- Develop norms for communication of project status, issues & risks
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed with emerging IT technologies and industry trends
- Propose and implement process improvements
- Espouse a culture of continuous improvement and a learning organization
6. Policy and Standardization:
- Create and communicate corporate IT policies
- Lead efforts to consolidate and standardize applications across the organization, including project management tools and document storage solutions (e.g., Google Drive, Box, OneDrive)
- Define and communicate security standards, including mobile device management policies
7. Compliance and Certification Support:
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to support various certifications
- Assist in maintaining compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, GDPR, and SOC II
- Ensure IT practices align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
8. Application Portfolio Management:
- Regularly assess the company's application landscape
- Identify opportunities for consolidation, standardization, and optimization
- Manage the lifecycle of applications, from selection to retirement
9. Security Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures
- Oversee the implementation and management of security tools and technologies
- Conduct regular security assessments and address identified vulnerabilities
Requirements:
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in IT, with at least 1 year in a leadership role with budget responsibility
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, security, and application architecture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and ultimately into practical solutions; Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with SaaS business applications and vendor management; Experience with NetSuite ERP strongly desired
- Project management skills
- Familiarity with legal, statutory/regulatory requirements such as: ISO-9001, GDPR and SOC II desired
- Familiarity with the Google G-suite and/or Microsoft 365 desired
