Summary:
Responsible for providing professional leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction for company wide information technology infrastructure. Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing information systems to ensure data integrity, security and compliance. Along with staff, and budgets to meet company goals and objectives.
Essential Functions: (Items in Red currently being outsourced to Scantron)
1. Manages and coordinates the activities and operations of the company’s information systems, including oversight, management and follow-up with appropriate 3rd party venders.
a. Oversees the administration, implementation, and management of the network infrastructure including the server environment, data backup/recovery systems, Internet access, communication devices, computers, printers, building security and other information systems.
b. Plans, designs, evaluates, and implements technology systems and solutions to improve operational effectiveness and efficiencies within the company.
c. Develops and implements IT policies, procedures, and standards to provide a stable and secure technology environment.
d. Monitors IT system performance to ensure effective delivery and operation of IT services and makes recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
e. Troubleshoots infrastructure issues, including VoIP, servers, storage, switches, routers, firewalls, and security systems.
f. Creates and manages user accounts in the various systems including network logon, messaging logon, and security system.
g. Ensures security of data, network, access, and backup systems. Maintains firewalls and Internet security software.
h. Researches, develops, and administers a strategic plan for technology improvements, goals, and objectives by assessing and evaluating technology needs and trends.
i. Researches and recommends hardware and software service providers to ensure a balance of cost and function. Coordinates the purchase, installation, and support of hardware and software including contract negotiation. Resolves hardware and software issues.
j. Maintains inventory of hardware, software, and records of all licenses and other applicable data as required. Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network and system configuration.
k. Develops and manages the IT department annual budget and ensures cost effectiveness.
2. Supervises and manages IT personnel.
a. Plans, assigns, and directs work and projects of IT staff. Coordinates the daily activities of the IT division.
b. Meets and communicates regularly to answer questions and to discuss project status, issues/concerns, resources, and solutions.
c. Mentors staff and provides coaching and training based on individual development needs with emphasis on collaboration, customer service, innovation, and efficiency.
d. Evaluates staff performance and conducts performance reviews. Addresses complaints and resolves problems; disciplines employees and formulates corrective plans as necessary.
3. Cross-Departmental Collaboration.
a. Collaborates with Company Management to define short- and long-range organizational strategic objectives for information systems and technology.
b. Coordinates with departments to identify and analyze information system needs and needed hardware and software updates within budget constraints.
c. Coordinates efforts among departments to ensure an integrated information system.
d. Coordinates training for efficient use of new and existing technology and security.
e. Communicates and enforces IT policies and procedures for the application of technology within the company.
f. Develop and maintain custom reports for executive leadership and managers, utilizing tools like SQL or embedded reporting features.
4. Performs other essential job duties.
a. Regular and timely work attendance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
q Proven management and leadership skills; experience leading and managing IT projects.
q Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network, and systems administration, databases, data storage systems, and telecommunications systems.
q Knowledge of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, unified computing system, unified communications, and wireless technology.
q Knowledge of Microsoft software including Office 365, Windows 10, Windows Server, Office, Exchange, and SQL Server.
q Experience with API-based integrations to link ERP systems with other platforms. (i.e. Agility, ODT, Paychex, Barbaric, B-Informed).
q Knowledgeable with Microsoft networking including active directory and cloud computing.
q Strong problem-solving, decision-making, ability to prioritize, and project management skills.
q Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with all levels of company staff, management, and vendors.
q Ability to research information to prepare accurate reports and informational materials.
q Fundamentals of budgeting and strategic planning.
q Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
q Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field. (Master’s Degree )
q 5-7 years of experience in network administration in Cisco, VMware environments.
q 5-7 years of experience in maintaining Windows environment.
q Three years supervisory experience with excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to translate complex technical terms into business .
q Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
