Job DescriptionInfrastructure Business Analyst | £720 per day (Inside IR35) | 12-month contract | London Industry: Financial ServicesSalary: £720 per day (Inside IR35)Location: London - 2/3 days in officeJob type: Contract Our client, is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to join their Technology team on a 12-month contract based in London.This role sits within the Platform Operations team, where you will provide technical expertise and operational support across a diverse range of infrastructure platforms and services. You will play a critical role in ensuring the security, availability, and efficiency of core infrastructure services, enabling the business to operate effectively and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients. What you'll do:\n

• Ensure the security, availability, and integrity of core infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud environments.

\n

• Provide operational support and maintenance for on-premises and Azure cloud infrastructure.

\n

• Take proactive ownership of IT infrastructure operations, support, and project-related activities.

\n

• Monitor and manage infrastructure-related tickets, requests, and technical escalations.

\n

• Participate in the on-call rota (approximately one week per month; weekdays, 07:30 to 18:00).

\n

• Support regular operational activities such as disaster recovery tests and perform out-of-hours work when required.

\n

• Optimise, monitor, maintain, and improve infrastructure services, ensuring they remain efficient, reliable, and secure in line with industry best practices.

\n

• Coordinate activities related to infrastructure operations, such as upgrades, maintenance, and other business-as-usual (BAU) tasks.

\n

\n Skills and Experience:\n

\n
• Proven hands-on experience in infrastructure operations and support engineering.

\n

• Expertise in managing enterprise Windows platforms.

\n

• Proficiency in maintaining and creating documentation, including processes, procedures, and user guides.

\n

• Technical experience in the following areas:\n

  • Windows Server Administration (2012/2016/2019/2022)

  \n

  • Cloud Platforms (Azure )

  \n

  • Hyperconverged Hosting Platforms (e.g., Nutanix)

  \n

  • VMware System Administration

  \n

  • Backup and Recovery Tools (e.g., CommVault, Azure Backup, Recovery Manager for AD)

  \n

  • Configuration Management Tools (e.g., SCCM, Group Policy)

  \n

  • Scripting (PowerShell)

  \n
