Infrastructure Engineer

The Enterprise Monitoring and Automation team provides the tools and strategy to drive holistic end-to-end enterprise technology monitoring across a combination of people, process, and tools. We define and implement a comprehensive standardized set of ‘best-of-breed’ monitoring tools for use across the enterprise. Our team democratizes the monitoring data and federates dashboard configuration and events management. We are developing a modern automation platform using artificial intelligence and machine learning to facilitate automated issue resolution, faster triage and infrastructure management. Role As Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and deploying enterprise monitoring solutions for the firms compute platforms. This is a hands on role working with both open source and commercial software solutions, along with developing code to integrate these solutions with parts of the enterprise eco system. Engineer and develop the firms Enterprise Prometheus monitoring infrastructure. Engineer monitoring solution for Kubernetes based workloads. Develop applications to support integration and automation of the monitoring eco system. Develop rich visualizations in Grafana. Collaborate across the teams and key stakeholder, with a mindset to continue to improve the offering. Research and integrate new and emerging monitoring solutions. Qualifications BSc OR MSc in Computer Science or related field. 5+ years of experience with enterprise monitoring tools and cloud native monitoring such as Prometheus. 3+ years of experience in development using languages such as GoLang, Java or Python. Understanding of Agile and other development processes and methodologies. Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and should have deployed and supported container based applications. Excellent verbal & written communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and organizations. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Open Telemetry. In-depth knowledge working with and managing Git (Bitbucket, Github, CodeCommit). Experience using messaging technologies, Apache Kafka and IBM MQ. Experience with UI technologies like Angular, JS.
