Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid- £55,000 - Hyper-V -Azure plus 15% bonus



My client is looking for a Infrastructure Engineer which will be responsible for the technical implementation and maintenance of the organization's services and infrastructure, encompassing both on-premises and cloud environments. The role entails provisioning, deploying, and sustaining these systems to align with business needs. You will be putting your knowledge, communicational skills and experience into practice to provide our customers, both internal and external, with outstanding service and support.


Principal accountability areas


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage complex infrastructure systems, including servers (Windows), virtualisation (Hyper-V), storage, networks, and cloud environments (Azure) - this includes working on both physical and virtual hardware
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability collaborating cross-functionally throughout the business
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, providing timely support to internal teams
  • Implement security best practices and conduct regular audits to safeguard systems and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Leading infrastructure projects from initiation to completion
  • Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies
  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our infrastructure


Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • Previous experience with infrastructure including Hyper-V and physical servers (Windows)
  • Proficient with Windows server 2012-2019, AD, DNS, DHCP, Failover Manager
  • Demonstrable experience with implementation of and backup maintenance (Veeam)
  • Experience with on-site data centre maintenance and management
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-site infrastructure
  • Strong hands-on experience configuring and maintaining network devices such as Firewalls (Palo alto/Cisco ASA), Switches, WiFi and Routers
  • DR implementation and regular testing
  • Hardware and software patching/firmware upgrades
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
