Infrastructure Engineer – (Infrastructure, Engineering, Virtualization, Proxmox, IaC, RHEL, Data Centres, Hardware, Linux, Debian, Ubuntu, Hypervisor, Red Hat, Networking, Automation, Terraform, Anisble, GPU Servers, Storage, SAN) – Permanent - Bury



Charles Simon Associates are currently looking for x2 Infrastructure Engineers on a permanent basis. X1 Infrastructure Engineers and another more Junior role looking to progress and learn.



Location: Bury (this is onsite 5 days a week)



Salary: Up to £70,000 D.O.E



Skills/Requirements for the Infrastructure Engineer:



* Previous experience within a similar role is vital for these roles, especially the more experience role



* Extensive Linux experience, any flavour; Debian, RHEL, Ubuntu etc



* Strong experience with Proxmox or other Hypervisor technologies



* Experience of Automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible



* Infrastructure as a Code (IaC)



* Knowledge of GPU Servers and high performance environments



* Previous data centre experience would be highly desirable



Start date is ASAP for the Infrastructure Engineer



The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:



* Building, deploying, maintaining, and optimising GPU-based virtualisation environments.



* Managing and scaling GPU servers, ensuring high availability and performance.



* Overseeing storage and networking configurations for virtualised workloads.



* Developing and managing integration pipelines to automate deployments.



* Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.



* Monitoring and improving system performances using logging and observability tools.



* Working on automation solutions to streamline provisioning, scaling, and maintenance.



* Configuring and maintaining network infrastructure, including firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs.



* Troubleshooting network and connectivity issues within the data centre.



* Managing and monitoring system performance, ensuring uptime and stability.
