Senior Infrastructure Engineer

 

Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking engineering consultancy, is looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in S38 and S278 agreements. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leading role in delivering key infrastructure projects while working within a collaborative and supportive team.

 

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and approval of highways and drainage schemes. You will work closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard while meeting regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·Design & Technical Delivery - Prepare detailed designs for highways and drainage systems, including Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports to support planning applications.

·Project & Stakeholder Management - Oversee the technical approvals process for S38 and S278 agreements, liaising with local authorities and key stakeholders.

·Software & Technical Expertise - Utilize industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, MicroDrainage/Flow, and Civil 3D to develop high-quality designs.

·Collaboration & Leadership - Work closely with internal teams, including environmental and planning specialists, to create comprehensive Construction and Environmental Management Plans.

·Compliance & Standards - Ensure all work aligns with relevant legislation, planning policies, and best practices in the industry.

What We're Looking For:

·Qualifications: A degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and ideally working towards or having achieved Chartered status.

·Experience in UK infrastructure projects, particularly within the residential development sector.

·Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of flood risk, drainage, and highway design, with demonstrable expertise in securing S38 and S278 approvals.

·Communication & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to liaise effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, while proactively resolving technical challenges.
