Injection Mold Process Engineer

Position Overview: The Process Engineer provides engineering and technical support for plants and corporate programs, encompassing productivity improvements, standardization of process and manufacturing methods, business expansion of new product lines, installation and start-up of new equipment and introduction to new products.Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Cycle time reduction programs. Process control programs. Equipment upgrade programs. Material optimization programs. OEE / Uptime Optimization programs. New product implementation programs. Assist in SPC systems development and implementation. Assist in developing and updating preventative maintenance of molds and machines. Product and process improvement. Provide ongoing technical support to plant operations. Assist in maximizing machine performance, Safety, and Quality. Evaluate and implement material advances. Develop standard operating procedures for molding machines and related equipment. New mold and equipment installations. Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.Experience & Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/plastic engineering.Experience: 5+ years in the plastics industry. Experience with Continuous Improvement, Good Manufacturing Practices, Lean, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.Specific skills: Project management expertise in process improvement and innovation principles.  Ability to react to situations in a timely manner and be flexible with people and operational assets.  Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Equipment & Machinery:  Extensive knowledge of injection molding process, equipment, materials, and tooling.  Computer Experience & Software:   Proficient in Microsoft applications.
