ROHADFOX Construction Management is looking for two utility Inspectors. You would be hired as our employee and would be eligible for all benefits we provide to our full-time employees. Our client would prefer someone who lives within commute distance of the airport and has a valid CA Drivers License. The Inspectors will inspect the construction of a wide variety of airport improvements, utilities projects to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, contracts, permits, environmental documents, agreements for work, and may provide construction inspection support. Documents daily progress of the work, prepares monthly progress payment request, tracks various changes, verifies time and material work, measures and documents job quantities. Documentation and information retrieval may require computer literacy skills. Construction Inspectors must have the ability to set priorities, the ability to make decisions and work effectively with minimal supervision, the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with Clients' stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, the public and must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times." Pay range $68-72.50/hr. The hours are expected to be 6:30AM-2:30pm M-F.
Essential Job Duties
• Conduct inspections for the installation of sanitary sewer systems and storm drains, including related structures, in accordance with City and County of Los Angeles Standards.
• Oversee the installation of underground wet and dry utilities, working within or for various Southern California regional agencies.
• Perform inspections for the installation of street lighting and traffic signal systems, following the specifications set by the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.
• Ensure compliance with multi-phased, site-specific traffic control plans, with a strong emphasis on pedestrian safety and routing.
• Collaborate professionally within a large team of inspectors.
• Apply extensive knowledge of City of Los Angeles Standard Plans/Specifications and the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (Greenbook).
Project-Specific Requirements/Notes
Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications
• 5 years or more of experience performing inspection of large-scale Public Works type projects.
• Proven expertise in the installation and inspection of sewer and storm drain systems, utility infrastructure, and traffic control measures.
• Strong working knowledge of City of Los Angeles and County of Los Angeles Standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive field experience and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
Education/Training
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years.
Element-Specific Requirements/Notes
• May assume other duties as required/needed.
• Maybe required to work various shifts as needed.
• The position will require the candidate to have the ability to transit to, from, and between project sites.
