We're looking for a facilities Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Santa Clara, California who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects including state of the art semi-conductor, industrial and commercial facilities.  You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering and programming tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your primary focus will be on configuration and programming of facility management system PLCs and HMI/SCADA interfaces.  The role has opportunity in growth expansion to work with our team in highly complex gas detection systems.  The multi-discipline, highly interactive team produces designs for electrical circuits and panels utilizing CAD applications, designs for control systems for a variety of facility core and shell processes, and develop options and optimizations for all aspects of the process control, instrumentation, and automation.  Your role keeps our company connected and we’ll support you with what you need to be successful.

PLEASE NOTE:  This position is a local on-site role with flexibility to work as hybrid.  The position is not available for sponsorship of work authorization in the U.S.

 Here's What You'll Need: 

  • Bachelor's or equivalent vocational degree in Electrical , Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At Least 5 years of Industrial Instrumentation and Controls Experience
  • Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC ControlLogix ), such as Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley (Studio/Rslogix 5000), utilizing ladder logic.
  • Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC RX3i/RX7i), such Emerson Machine Edition (ME), utilizing ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of ProfiNet, ControlNet, modbus TCP/IP, KepWare
  • Program HMI/SCADAs (FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware)
  • Develop solutions and participate in various phases of automation projects including creating design specifications, software configuration and testing, and the commissioning and start-up of a variety manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the functions of pressure, level, temperature and other "smart" transmitters.
  • Knowledge and experience with analog, digital, and relay field wiring and troubleshooting of devices and PLC hardware.
  • Knowledge of Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) following ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbology.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have:                                                                                                                                        

 

  • Professional Engineer licensure, or ability to obtain.
  • Knowledge and experience in the design of industrial control panels.
  • Experience working with Gas Life Safety Systems.
  • Industrial network experience.
  • Knowledge with industrial networking and design components, virtual machine, SQL Server.
  • Experience participating in system testing and commissioning activities.
  • Experience in creating Sequence of Operations documentation.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Access, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience in Semi-conductor, industrial or general industrial facilities
  • Experience in various aspects of industrial automation, instrumentation, electrical power and building automation system design.

·       Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit software.

  • Knowledge of industrial control panel design.

·       Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
