Instrumentation Engineer Role
As an Instrumentation Engineer you will be required to undertake an Instrumentation design role on high pressure pipeline and plant systems, working to high engineering standards within the budgets and timescales set by our clients.
- You will be enthusiastic and conscientious about the work you produce, leading by example with good attention to detail.
- You will have the ability to learn quickly and work methodically under your own initiative and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- You will also have awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental procedures relating to design and construction activities.
Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within utility, pipeline or related industries, and have good working knowledge of the applicable design codes including BS6739 – Code of Practice for Instrumentation in process control system: Installation design and practice and British Standards.
You will have gained at least a 2:1 (Upper Second–Class honours) in an Electrical / Electronic Engineering degree, and be registered with an appropriate institution. You will also be working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
Instrumentation Engineer Requirements
In addition, it would be advantageous if you had knowledge / experience of the following
- HND/Degree qualification in Electronic/Electrical engineering (Essential)
- Autocad 2D (Advantageous)
- ATEX / DSEAR Compliance (Advantageous)
- Intrinsically safe system (Advantageous)
- SCADA / DCS Systems (Hardware, and awareness of software) (Advantageous)
- Formal Process Safety Assessments i.e. HAZOP, HAZID, HAZCON, SWDS (Advantageous)
- Safety Integrity (BS EN 61508 / BS EN 61511) (Advantageous)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday days.
