Job Purpose

Recognized as the Company's foremost expert in his engineering discipline, and provides the highest technical
and professional engineering leadership and expertise. Looks for ways to introduce emerging technologies to
increase company profitability and productivity through promoting innovative solutions and novel technologies
to solve technical problems, enhance integrity and reliability and/or increase revenue. Responsible for
maintaining and incorporating new, cost-effective solutions in design through Saudi Aramco Engineering
Standards, Material Specifications, and Best Practices. Represents the Company in industry or professional
society joint efforts to promote safety and the public welfare through improved designs and specifications.
Participates as a technical expert or arbitrator in Contract disputes. Undertakes special assignments
requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.

Responsibilities

DUTY1 / effort % (020)
Provides highest level engineering consultation in Company dealings with
Saudi Aramco
senior Management, global companies, universities and government
agencies on matters
relating to his/her area of expertise.


DUTY2 / effort % (020)
Provides capital and operations program leadership by conceiving,
designing and carrying
out major engineering studies to resolve complex technical problems,
increase revenue,
optimize processes, protect the environment or improve safety.

DUTY3 / effort % (010)
Develops and maintains Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards and Design
Best Practices to
enhance company profitability, safety and productivity. Directs the
development of design
manuals or other engineering documentations to solve complex and unusual
problems in
his/her field.

DUTY4 / effort % (010)
Evaluates and introduces best practices and emerging technologies from
all over the world
to help the Company achieve Best in Class positions in the oil business.
Evaluates major
long term trends in his area of expertise and serves as a major conduit
of technology
transfer in his/her field.

DUTY5 / effort % (010)
Develops potentially patentable new equipment and processes for use in
his area of
expertise. Develops ideas for major technical studies or projects to be
carried out by
less senior specialists.

DUTY6 / effort % (010)
Lead task forces assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific
problems. Undertakes
special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and
discretion when dealing
with outside organizations. Actively participates in work of technical
societies, and
participates on specialized committees within appropriate groups.

DUTY7 / effort % (010)
Promotes a learning environment and sustains expert status in highly
specialized technical
and general engineering fields. Acts as a professional mentor to
transfer knowledge.
Conducts seminars, presents case studies, and writes papers for
peer-reviewed journals on
engineering studies and projects.

Conducts economic studies and cost analyses of particular importance in
his field.
Conducts field inspections and makes recommendations for changes in
facilities or
operations.
