Apply today and join the company that is Leading with Science®. We are currently seeking an Intermediate Environmental Engineer to join our Greenhouse Gas/Sustainability team in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will conduct Greenhouse Gas (GHG) verification, quantification and/or reporting projects under Alberta Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) Regulation, British Columbia GHG reporting regulation, Saskatchewan GHG regulation, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Canadian Climate Lens Assessment program, and other required regulations and GHG reporting programs. Some of the Responsibilities You May Have: Verifying, identifying, and checking raw data against data used in the quantification Ensuring quantification methods used are appropriate and correctAssessing that the data management systems and control procedures are sufficient and appropriate Conducting site visits to verify emission sources, interview operators, and review supporting documents.Evaluating that GHG reports are prepared in accordance with the program criteria, such as TIERPreparing verification and other technical reportsAbility and willingness to travel to project sites across Western and Northern Canada. Qualifications that Would Make You A Great Candidate: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in sustainability, environment, climate change, engineering or equivalent.Must possess a Professional Engineer designation (P. Eng.).5-10 years of relevant work experience in environmental consulting, environment auditing and/or GHG quantification/verification Experience in GHG quantification methodologies, especially Alberta Quantification Methodology (AQM) and Western Climate Initiative (WCI).Understanding environmental regulations related to the work in Canada (e.g. Alberta TIER regulation, federal OBPS, etc.).Knowledge of production processes, and/or GHG emission sources in one or more sectors: power generation, mining and mineral production, oil and gas extraction, etc.Knowledge of environmental economics and administrative approaches, such as cap and trade system and carbon tax system for emission controls is considered an asset.Training in ISO14064-1,2, and/or 3 is considered an asset.Ability to work independently and within a team.
