Intern, Area Director of Operations (July to December 2024)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The intern will work with Marriott’s Area Operations, Singapore & Maldives team and based in the Singapore office. The intern will assist in projects, and supporting initiatives related to hotel operations. Key responsibilities include: Market research on new/recent projects Participate in hotel and market visits Take ownership of operational projects such as guest satisfaction, pre-openings Create and format presentation decks using PowerPoint Perform basic analysis using Excel and other relevant analytical tools Coordinate data / information collection with different teams Manage and respond to e-mails in an effective, organized and professional way Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and follow company policies and procedures Assist supervisor in facilitating appointments Assist team members other than your direct supervisor as needed Perform other reasonable job duties as requested JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Display strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in handling data Be initiative, proactive, creative and have the ability to “think outside the box” Be responsible, well-organized and systematic in dealing with assignments Be flexible and adaptable to change and have awareness on different cultures in the region Have a good command of English – spoken and written, Chinese would be an added value Have good interpersonal and communication skills - able to work in a team Tech savvy - proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook QUALIFICATION STANDARD Education: Undergraduate in Hospitality Management, Business administration, Social Sciences, Economics or Marketing preferred Requirements Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident Holder or valid student pass / work holiday pass Eligible for undergraduate in a Singapore registered university program / uundergraduate or graduate of a university in Singapore, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom or United States.
