Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
- Monitor and analyse programme efficiency by developing bespoke reporting in PowerBI and Excel, to ensure the plan meets key performance indicators and strategic objectives.
- Liaise extensively with internal stakeholders to develop multi-million-pound work programme budgets, ensuring they are accurately scoped and sized to meet programme and business requirements.
- Support the construction of the engineering business plan for the next regulatory period, supporting the businesses role in meeting net zero by facilitating decarbonisation.
- Manage the timely update of the investment plan following authorisation of major project capital schemes, and support the transition of the plan into our bespoke investment planning system.
- Oversee the management of change requests to the investment plan, ensuring our annual performance remains balanced and delivers overall business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide visibility of the investment plan in appropriate detail throughout each review period.
- Appraise affordability for contracts, covering operational service providers and network asset procurement.
- Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

- Demonstrated experience in project management and business analysis.
- Strong capabilities in planning, strategic planning, and aligning plans with business objectives.Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills to foster effective communication and partnerships.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and critical thinking to address complex challenges.
- Expertise in budgeting, measuring efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulation.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes and contract appraisal.
Qualifications and Attributes
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Degree qualified, or a level 4 qualification (e.g. HNC) with a minimum of five years relevant experience
- Proficient in the use of PowerBI, Excel, Access or equivalent tools to source and interpret data from a variety of sources and produce reports.
- Experience managing projects or programmes of work
- Experience in dealing with complex economic/analytical projects
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in mathematics, finance, business, economics, engineering
- Project management qualifications
- Experience of working in the electricity industry or a related regulated utility
- Experience of producing regulatory returns
- Knowledge of UK energy regulation
- Experience in using SQL and databases and manipulating data using tools like Excel, Oracle Analytics, Power BI or equivalent
