Job Description
We are looking for an IT Manager, Data Engineering to join our growing team! In this role, you will lead a team of data engineers responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a strong focus on BigQuery as our enterprise data warehouse. You will drive the development of robust ETL/ELT processes, ensure high data quality and performance, and partner with analytics, product, and platform teams to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will be at the center of advancing our modern data stack and supporting real-time and batch data use cases at scale.
As an IT Manager, Data Engineering, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable data collection, processing, and integration
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of data architectures, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
- Manage the integration of various data sources (internal and external) to ensure seamless and unified data for analytics
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the data warehouse, ensuring its optimal performance and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop solutions to meet business needs
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance and support
- Oversee the deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models, ensuring they are delivering actionable insights and adding value to business processes
- Work closely with IT, product, and business teams to align on data infrastructure and analytics needs
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in managing data platforms, preferably in a cloud-based environment with a focus on GCP and data warehousing, designing, building, and supporting real-time and batch data pipeline and analytical solutions
- 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Information Management, with at least 2 years of people management experience
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and relevant certifications (e.g., Google Professional Data Engineer) would be a significant advantage
- Familiarity with data warehousing technologies and techniques, including data lakes, and integration tools
- Experience in data integration, transformation, and data pipeline orchestration
- Proficiency in data modeling, schema design, and normalization
- Strong knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data integration, and automation.
- Expertise in data warehouse technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to make data-driven decisions
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional team interactions
