Join our the TPI team as an IT Systems Engineer and be the driving force behind designing, implementing, and securing mission-critical network infrastructure for seamless connectivity and peak performance! This is an onsite position in Des Moines, IA.


Position Summary: The IT Systems Engineer position will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, develop solutions, and support our mission-critical systems. Your expertise will contribute to the reliability, security, and scalability of our network environment.


Essential Functions

  • Design, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage solutions.
  • Develop and implement system architecture and integration strategies.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resources.
  • Ensure system security through patches, updates, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Automate tasks and improve efficiency through scripting and configuration management tools.
  • Collaborate with software developers, DevOps, and IT teams to support application deployment.
  • Maintain documentation, including system configurations and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in system engineering, network administration, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in networking protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and automation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree in related field .
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineer experience
  • Certifications such as CCNA, MCSE

Physical Demands: This position requires a variation of frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day with occasional bending and squatting required to work on equipment. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Continuous vision required for detailed work. Frequent hand/wrist/finger movement for computer work.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but the schedule varies and requires flexibility to work as needed in the evenings and weekends. Typically, 40 hours per week.

Travel: Some travel may be required to assist off-site employees as needed.

The pay range for this position is $55k-$75K annually. Compensation is dependent on experience and industry knowledge.
