With around 160 employees, kiz is the second largest central institution at Ulm University and provides library, information technology and media services for research, teaching, studies and administration. The Infrastructure department is responsible for the entire network infrastructure, the provision of basic IT equipment, a high-performance computing cluster and other system-related services provided by a modern IT center. Your profile: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a technical subject and at least three years of practical work experience In-depth knowledge of strategies and technologies for backup/restore at enterprise level, a nationwide network, UNIX operating systems, university-internal system landscapes and network technologies (in particular IPv4, IPv6, VLAN, Ethernet) Detailed knowledge of the Solaris & Linux operating systems used, in service management according to ITIL, a ticket system (KIX would be desirable) and the BSI IT-Grundschutz building blocks relevant to the operation of the backup service Very good written and spoken German language skills Strong teamwork skills, ability to work under pressure, independent working style and strong communication skills Your tasks: Operation, maintenance and further development of the backup service based on the Bacula software Coordination, operation and further development of the Bacula backup network Ensuring an appropriate level of protection of the entire backup system (incl. server, HD storage, tape library) against cyber attacks (especially ransomware) and failures due to hardware and/or software problems 2nd level support Training of administrators Management of the necessary maintenance and repair work Collaboration in the operation of the "Printing in the network" service based on the Papercut software We offer: A pleasant working atmosphere with flat hierarchies A structured induction program Further training opportunities Details and further information can be found at: https://www.uni-ulm.de/stellenportal Take the chance and shape the university with us! > Reference no.: 24115 > Application deadline: until 15.09.2024 Recruitment is carried out by the Central University Administration.
