Job Description and Responsibilities

Join EVRAZ North America's team in Calgary, Alberta as a Journeyman Welder, where your skilled craftsmanship will play a crucial role in our production process. As an integral part of our dynamic team, you will be contributing to the quality and safety of our steel products.

  • Perform work requiring the welding properties of various types of metals, welding rods, welding heats, stress relief, allowances for fit-up and machining and the effect of shrinkage, warpage and expansion
  • Interpret drawings and sketches, plans details of working procedures, tools, and material requirements
  • Exercise all safety precautions and makes provisions for handling material and equipment to and from job sites as required in connection with work
  • Lay out work, make sketches and determine stock size as required
  • Set-up assembles and track welds parts, constructing special features as needed.
  • Performs gas and electric welding in all positions (down-hand vertical, overhead etc).
  • Make any type and size of weld, such as "V" lap, butt , etc. Pre-heat parts when required
  • Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any procedural abnormalities



Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Inter-provincial Journeyman Welding Certificate, Red Seal.
  • B Pressure experience preferable
  • 3 years' experience required
