POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing support to the Maintenance Technician in the effective operation of the equipment on their respective shift. The Junior Maintenance Technician will be the primary respondent to technical problems that arise in the Assembly Cell areas on each shift, including process, quality, and production issues. The position is also responsible for assisting the Maintenance Technician with project, repairs, and for performing preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled. The position will also be involved with various technical projects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist the Maintenance Technician in ensuring that all of the staff is adhering to company policies and work procedures.
  2. Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are part of everyone’s daily work habits.
  3. Assist the Maintenance Technician on repairs in the most efficient manner possible.
  4. Assist Others as instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
  5. Make repairs to the Assembly fixtures as needed with approval from the Maintenance Manager.
  6. Completion of preventive maintenance activities as scheduled.
  7. Complete various projects as required.
  8. Continual communication with Maintenance Technician, Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and support staff to insure continuity of efforts.
  9. Other assignments as designated by the Maintenance Manager.
  10. Employees will be trained to all applicable company standards as identified on the company training matrix TR-401.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. Strong leadership ability and a high degree of ethical and professional standards. Must be trusted by subordinates, peers, and superiors, and must be willing to accept responsibility for their performance.
  2. Should have own tools, or at a minimum begin to acquire the tools needed per the attached Maintenance Tool List.
  3. Ability to stand for 12 hours.
  4. Requires a commitment to continuous improvement in order to meet ever increasing demands for improved quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  5. Strong problem solving skills of both the interpersonal, and the technical side of the operation.
  6. Organized and structured approach to the work environment, with strong attention to details.
  7. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  8. Ability to handle stressful employee situations, and to treat people with respect.
  9. Ability to excel in a team-based environment.
  10. Ability to perform in a proactive mode, and to plan and respond accordingly.

Competency

  1. Requires a minimum of 70% on testing of, Electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic, Mechanical, Welding/cutting, tooling, and Environmental.
  2. Requires a Crane operating license.
  3. Requires a Fork Lift operating license.
  4. Requires a minimum score of 70% on the Lock out – Tag out (LOTO) Test.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Junior Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager.
