Jr MARINE Construction Project Engineer

Job Description:
My client is an innovative and growing company that is looking to hire a construction project engineer with Marine Dock exp (WOOD). Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, they will consider candidates who do not necessarily have all of the qualifications but have sufficient experience and talent as a Project Engineer within the MARINE Construction arena.

THIS IS A JUNIOR POSITION THAT CAN LEAD INTO A SENIOR POSITION BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
 

Responsibilities for MARINE Construction Project Engineer:

  • Execute procurement and contract administration of construction site services and utilities
  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with contract terms and work with subcontractor personnel to promote safe and effective site operations
  • Represents business unit on cross-functional project teams and acts as a subject matter expert in resolving technical obstacles
  • Executes engineering and customer objectives against performance metrics
  • Develop budgets for future system integrations based on historical data and pricing trends
  • Travel to new builds, existing sites
  • Communicate with local subcontractors on high-level tasks to resolve issues
  • Developing, monitoring, and evaluating cost, submittal, schedule, and RFI reports
  • Completing RFQ and bid packages
  • Developing and following a look-ahead schedule


Qualifications for Construction Project Engineer:

  • A working knowledge of regulatory requirements for the construction industry is required such as WOOD DOCKS, BOARDWALKS, in a MARINE ENVIRONMENT etc...
  • Experience serving as Owner's Project Representative, including working effectively with client and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstration of continuing professional development initiatives
  • Ability to travel to other sites across the country as needed
  • Ability to independently work to drive solutions to issues
  • Experience managing construction projects in large institutional organizations


Construction industry and/or project management-related certifications or registrations such as Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, Construction Supervisor, LEED, BIM, BOCE. The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting a Project Manager and Superintendent on a construction management project both in the office and on the project site. The Project Engineer will assist with 1) scheduling preparation. 2) pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project. The Project Engineer manages the project team resources and overall quality control of the work to ensure projects are completed according to project plans and specifications:
 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering
  • Computer literate with software systems (Microsoft Suite of programs (MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerPoint, MSVisio), Bluebeam Revu, and HCSS HeavyJob)
  • A Bachelor of Science in Civil is required
  • At least one previous civil construction experience is required
  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering or construction field of study and two (2) years of construction work-related experience
  • Design Interface multidisciplinary Coordination (together with other engineers)

Job Type: Full-time
 

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000+  per year
