KC-130 Flight Test Professional

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide essential engineering and technical support to the MSTED, driving forward initiatives in test and evaluation engineering, research and development, systems analysis, and prototyping.
- Lead DT&E activities in test planning, conduct, data analysis, reporting, technical documentation, and systems engineering, utilizing advanced command and program test and evaluation toolsets. Ensure that test programs are executed efficiently, meeting rigorous standards and timelines.
- Prepare and refine preliminary test plans, create dynamic flight test scenarios, and design innovative data collection and reduction solutions that exceed specified requirements. Draft comprehensive flight test reports that provide critical insights and recommendations for future improvements.
- Collaborate in developing the T&E Strategy and Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) for program offices, ensuring effective communication with the Test and Experimentation Coordination Team (TECT). Engage in test planning, reporting, and deficiency reviews, playing a key role in Operational Test Readiness Reviews.
- Work alongside various stakeholders, including DOT&E, OUSD(AT&L), OPNAV, ASN(RDA), Operational Test Agencies, NAVSEA, and SPAWAR, to promote collaboration in naval aviation testing and evaluation.
- The ideal candidate will have proficiency in applying technical techniques, principles, and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical, and communications systems. Experience in maintaining, repairing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and programming systems equipment or components. Strong capability in reviewing, analyzing, and preparing engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures. Ability to organize, analyze, and prepare reports or presentations of technical data and information. Proven skills in planning and performing tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components, including compiling, processing, and analyzing test data and results.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a US . Must hold a current/active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance. The Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Education & Experience: MS/MA in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or engineering from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in project support in the aircraft test and evaluation field. Of the 8 years, a minimum of three years must have been as a team lead or supervisor. OR BS/BA and an additional 4 years of experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of the theory and methods of aircraft testing including Capabilities Based and Mission Based Test Design methodology.
- Broad scientific technical knowledge of the theory and methods of weapon system acquisition and support requirements, including complex problem solving and reduction and analysis of test data.
- Solid understanding of principles and practices of systems engineering including general knowledge of electronics and human/machine interface engineering.
- Strong writing and oral presentation skills.
- In depth knowledge of T&E engineering principles and processes to modify or extend current theories or test practices and/or procedures.
Compensation: $130,000-196,000.The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
