Job Summary
The Processing Department is the first step for a sample within the Laboratory. Each Specimen Processor will be competent in two areas within the department and/or segments of work: Accessioning, Data Entry, Aliquot. This is an entry-level position.
Essential Functions:
· Accessioning area: Receives the sample, selects all required tests to be performed on the sample and pours a qualitative aliquot for initial drug screening.
· Data Entry area: Captures the required demographics from the requisition and enters it into our system for result reporting.
Aliquot area: Prepares a quantitative aliquot for confirmatory testing.
Additional Duties:
· All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
· HS graduate or equivalent
· Laboratory experience helpful, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Meticulous attention to detail
· Able to communicate effectively in a team environment
· Able to interpret and follow complex, written, technical instructions
· Sound technical ability
Physical Requirements:
· Light to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.) -Heavier weights with assistance
· Sitting & standing for long periods of time
· Repetitive motions and/or prolonged computer use
· Working at a fast pace, subject to many interruptions and both physical and mental stress
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
