Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:

The Lab Technician will be responsible for supporting daily operations in the quality control laboratory at HPP. The technician will be responsible for handling and maintaining testing equipment, preparing samples for testing, conducting tests, and recording and analyzing data.

Starting pay is $24/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure the proper functioning of testing equipment, perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.

- Prepare samples for testing in accordance with established procedures.

- Conduct tests on samples using a range of testing equipment, including liquid particle counter, auto-titration instrument, and tensiometer.

- Record and analyze test data, generate reports, and communicate results to supervisors and colleagues.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and chemicals.

- Assist in the development and implementation of new testing procedures and protocols.

- Participate in laboratory safety training and adhere to established safety protocols.

Qualifications:

- Associate's degree in science related field.

- At least 2 years of experience working in an analytical laboratory.

- Experience with testing equipment and tools commonly used in quality assurance

- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues.

- Strong attention to detail and an ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to work in a laboratory environment that may include exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.
