General Description: This role will have a major focus on endocrinology and the majority of duties will fall in that department. The laboratory technician will mainly work with the Tosoh AIA-2000 analyzer but will also work to ensure normal operation workflow. Personnel must ensure the proper operation of the laboratory and provide quality service to all patients. Supervision Received: Reports to Laboratory Supervisor/ Laboratory Director

Essential Functions:
Perform routine and specialized endocrinology/laboratory procedures per established
protocols such as:
- Accession, analysis, and report of patient blood samples for requested hormone panel;
- Perform daily quality control and quality assurance procedures established and adopted by the laboratory director;
- Maintain and organize quality control records;
- Generate and provide an accurate report of results to the patient and clinical team;
- Ensure that all lab benches and other work areas are clean at the start and end of each
- work day;
- Ensure that all reagents and lab supplies are available at the start of each work day;
- Ensure that all necessary lab equipment is in working order at the start of the day;
- Perform inventory of supplies and request for purchases of necessary supplies;
- Act as liaison between the lab department and other departments or patients;
- Input and retrieve accurate information from the appropriate database;
- Assist in the training of newly hired lab technicians;
- Assist in the implementation of new laboratory protocols
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIP AA compliance.
Education:
Minimum high school degree; bachelor's in science.
Desired Competencies, Skills, and Experiences:
- experience in Andrology, Endocrinology with Tosoh or Horiba Analyzers. CDC ART submission.
- Must be thoroughly trained, through formal training or on-the-job, in the following laboratory techniques in relation to human fertility. However, we are willing to train in-house.
- Routine semen analysis;
- Human sperm preparation techniques for assisted reproductive therapies;
- Advanced laboratory tests for human sperm functions and fertilizing capacity;
- Human sperm Cryopreservation
- Assist patient with specimen collection and accessioning;
- Quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Must be able to conduct technical work with minimum supervision from lab supervisor or lab director and exercise independent judgement and responsibility in carrying out laboratory work.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
